UTENA UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES

Utena University of Applied Sciences is a state higher education institution, which operates from 2000 offering first cycle college-level studies aiming towards preparation for professional activity and are based on applied research. Graduates are awarded a Professional Bachelor’s Degree. It is a modern and dynamic institution and awarded with the nation and international recognition that develops partnerships and actively participates in the life of the region, Lithuania and European Higher Education Area.

The strategic goals of the institution are to train highly qualified professionals, motivated to continually improve and work under the conditions of global digitalisation and innovation growth; to develop applied scientific activities, research and non-formal education services relevant to the region and the country.

Today the institution offers 19 study programmes from seven groups of study fields: Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Informatics, Law, Business and Public Management, Agricultural Sciences and 9 of them are based on a modular study system with Problem-Based Learning approach. Study programmes are accredited by the national and international experts, theoretical knowledge and practical skills are transferred to the students by excellent professors, associate professors and professionals-practitioners who have acquired deep theoretical and practical experience. Very often, some of the subjects are taught by guest lecturers from the most prestigious European universities. Internships are an integral part of education.

Internalisation is one of the most important priorities of the institution and over years Utena UAS has built a large network of academic partners and enterprises. Utena University of Applied Sciences is awarded with Erasmus Charter of Higher Education. Students can participate in various international exchange programs, international projects. The HEI welcomes full-time international students from Armenia, Latvia, Nigeria, Nepal, Ukraine, Turkey, and other countries.
Students work and study in a modern environment with well-equipped computer labs and wireless Internet connections everywhere in the buildings. Utena UAS has excellent teaching and learning resources, including advanced conference and educational halls, the Centre of E-Learning, a library with access to e-libraries and databases. Students have good conditions for self-expression; they are actively involved in cultural and sports activities.
